Araştırmada Bursa il sınırları içinde bulunan 45 kümes ten rastgele seçilen 1396 tavuğun dışkısı muayene edilerek coccidiose etkenleri aranmış, görülen cocystlerin tür identifikasyonları yapılmış ve gram dışkıdaki cocyst miktarları sayılmıştır. Ayrıca hastalık semptomu gösteren 53 tavuğun otopsisi yapılarak lezyonlu bölgeler histopatolojik olarak incelenmiştir. Yapılan muayeneler sonunda 1396 tavuğa ait dışkı ör neğinden 740 (% 53.0) ında Eimeria (E) türlerinden E.necatrix E.tenella, E.brunettl, E.mitis, E. maxima olmak üzere beş tü rün oocystleri saf veya miks enfeksiyon şeklinde görülmüştür.
