Bu çalışmada, LHC de kurulmakta olan CMS detektörünün elektromagnetik kalorimetre ünitesinde PbW04 kristalinden yayınlanan fotonlann deteksiyonunda kullanılmak amacı ile Hamamatsu Photonics tarafından üretilen S8148 APD yapısı incelenmiştir. Monte Carlo tekniği kullanılarak fortran programlama dilinde hazırlanan benzetişim programı vasıtası ile, p+-n-n -n+ tipi silikon tabakalardan oluşmuş çığ fotodiyota gönderilen 350 nm-1000 nm arasında dalgaboyuna sahip fotonlar için deteksiyon verimi, çığ kazancı, sinyal büyüklükleri ve bunların dalgalanmaları elde edilmiştir.
