Academician, Prof. Dr. Ernest Mayer was one of the last members in the Committee for Mapping the Flora of Europe, who worked in the project from very beginning. From the first volume in 1972 up to the tenth volume in 1994 he acted as a Regional Collaborator for the former Yugoslavia, and from than as an Adviser. His great expertise was extremely important for Atlas Florae Europaeae to get reasonably good maps from that area, which is floristically rich but was at the end of last century still partly bad known.Akademik prof. dr.
