Hubungan Karakteristik Sosiodemografik dengan Kualitas Hidup Pasien Skizofernia Paranoid

Abstrak Schizophrenia is a common health issues around world that require a lot of personal and economic costs. Schizophrenia affects approximately 1% of the world population. If disorders are included in the estimated prevalence of schizophrenia, then the number of people affected increased by about 5%. Schizophrenia is described as the most severe psychotic disorders, and the effect on the the daily life and quality of life. Quality of life of schizophrenic patients is lower than healthy people and other psychiatric disorders. To determine the relationship of sociodemographic characteristics (age, gender, ethnicity, education level, occupation, marital status, living situation)  and duration of illness of the quality of life with paranoid schizophrenia patients. This research is an analytic research with cross sectional approach. Sampling technique using non-probability sampling techniques consecutive sampling types. The sample was paranoid schizophrenia patients who met the inclusion criteria. research site was at psychiatric clinic of BLUD RSJ Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Subjects numbered is 100 people. Measuring instruments used to determine the quality of life is by using a soft form-36 (SF-36) consists of 36  question points. The results of this study obtained an average of paranoid schizophrenic patient quality of life as measured by SF-36 questionnaire is 60.3 (12.8), who consists of a physical component is 67 (18.1) and mental component is 48.4 (29.8). Quality of life of each health component scale showed significant differences in the gender is on a scale of Mental Health component (MH) p-value = 0.038, which is on a scale of Vitality component (VT) p-value = 0.037 and duration of disorder that is on the Social Functioning scale component (SF)  p-value = 0.020. These results indicate that the quality of life of patients with schizophrenia paranoid individual of each health component scale based on sociodemographic characteristics namely age, education level, occupation, marital status and residence situations did not show significant differences while on gender, ethnicity and duration of illness showed a significant differences on a scale of Mental Health, Vitality, and Social Functioning components..
