The number of international students has reached 3200 at the University of Pécs in the September of the 2016/17 semester. 6% of these students are made up of student coming from neighbouring countries. The target group was queried via surveys. The study presents the university selection factors of the ethnic Hungarian students coming from neighbouring countries enrolled in the training programs of the UP, mapped by countries, and then exploring the similarities between the certain countries studied. In addition to the aspects of choosing university, the analysis focuses on the success of the integration of young student and the measurement of the satisfaction during the time spent at the university.
