Implicaciones De Una Educacion Bilingüe, Español- Inglés, Sobre La Identidad Cultural De Estudiantes De Decimo Grado De Una Institucion Educativa Bilingüe Del Sector Publico En Montenegro Quindio En La Tradicion Local A La Luz Del Paisaje Cultural Cafetero

This research was carried out through a qualitative approach in order to describe the impact of bilingual education, Spanish-English, on the cultural identity of tenth graders of a public institution in Montenegro, Quindío, taking into account the importance of preserving the characteristics of the Colombian Coffee Cultural Landscape. Five categories arose from the data 8 analysis: the impact of the culture of both languages on the cultural identity, the identification with the culture of both languages, the strengthening of the cultural identity in the institution, the difficulties of the institution regarding the importance of promoting cultural identity, and the awareness about new cultures and cultural transmission. From the results, it was found that the teaching of foreign language influences the culture of the mother tongue taking into account that through second language learning students get involved in the cultural aspects of the foreign culture, and make comparisons between both cultures. In addition, it could be seen that it is necessary that the institution shows the importance of the own culture. On the other hand, some advantages and disadvantages in the strengthening of the cultural identity in the institution were found; and that the students do not have enough knowledge about the culture of both languages. Moreover, teachers claim to have an intercultural development in the classroom by developing activities that show the importance of the culture.La presente investigación de enfoque cualitativo, etnográfica, buscaba describir el impacto de la educación bilingüe, español-inglés, sobre la identidad cultural de los estudiantes de décimo grado de una institución pública de Montenegro, Quindío, resaltando la importancia de conservar las características de Paisaje Cultural Cafetero Colombiano. A través del análisis de los datos surgen cinco categorías: el impacto de la cultura de ambas lenguas sobre la identidad cultural, importancia de la cultura de ambas lenguas, fortalecimiento de la identidad cultural en la institución, dificultades de la institución frente a la importancia de fomentar la identidad cultural y el conocimiento de nuevas culturas y transmisión cultural. A partir de los resultados se encuentra que a través de la enseñanza de una segunda lengua hay necesariamente una influencia sobre la cultura de la lengua materna teniendo en cuenta que por medio del aprendizaje de una L2 se aprende su cultura lo que permite que se hagan comparaciones entre estas, por lo tanto, se puede ver que es necesario que se muestre la importancia de la propia cultura. Así mismo, se pueden encontrar algunas ventajas y desventajas en el fomento de la identidad cultural en la institución, encontrando que los estudiantes tienen poco conocimiento sobre la cultura de la lengua materna y segunda lengua. Por otra parte, se demuestra que los docentes pretenden tener un desarrollo intercultural en el aula, desarrollando actividades que muestran la importancia de ambas culturas en el aula de clases.AgradecimientosResumenIntroducciónMaestríaOtr
