This is a translation of scientific papers that were presented for the aca-demic conference held in Khartoum at the International University of Africa entitled “Interaction and Interrelation in Africa”. The first subject deals with literature, culture and language in Africa ,and how the Arabic language has spread and its role in West Africa, the spread of Islam by Arabic Muslims in North Africa after its occupation and how it has become an essential part of the Arab world . It discusses about Timbuk-tu history and scholars. The second subject deals with the languages of inter communication in Afri-ca and their role in the process of interaction and communication and the policies of colonialism Who claim that Africa needs urgent development which can only be achieved through the language of the colonialists. The third subject discusses transculturalism in post independence Zimba-bwean Drama when the country attained independence in April 1990, three distinct strains of theatre emerged out of the colonial period. These were the semi professional and well endowed white theatres, popular mu-sical theater in the black townships and a revolutionary theater of black cul-tural nationalism that had emerged out of the nationalist struggle
