International audienceIn this paper, we attempt to critically evaluate the methodologies of objective assessment of voice before and after speech therapy. We discuss the effectiveness of the measures as well as their benefits and limitations. We review the methods, publications and available tools for voice evaluation, and justify the research action developed within the LURCO laboratory. We focus on the construction of a database of pathological voices, development of statistical tools, and the extraction of trends for specific pathologies, in the context of end-of-study speech therapy research.
