Ever since the ancient times, certain archetypes can be noticed in literature, ranging through the well known classics from Homer’s Illiad to Tolkien’s The Lord of The Rings. Recently, women’s characters have begun to gain a greater depth and more often are starting to take on the hero role. What is still problematic is the tendency to take away these women’s female attributes and give them those typically associated with men instead in an attempt to glorify them.
