Faced with the relevance of science in postmodernity and its contribution to humanity, students' conception of science and scientific doing became the object of academic study. This research analyzed the conceptions about science and the scientific job in students of a Public Normal Course of the South of Brazil, future teachers of the Initial Years of Elementary Education.
