Bioestimulation effects on reproductive perfomance in beef cattle.

The low calving rates are the main cause of the low economic and productive beef cattle industry in Brazil. In the last decades, many techniques of management such feed suplementation of females, early weaning and hormones utilization were researched aiming to increase the reproductive efficiency of beef cows. The bioestimulation or male effect, has been defined as a stimulatory effect via pheromones genital or other less well-defined external cues, of a male or androgenizade female on estrus, puberty or ovulation. Is a management that can determine shorter periods of postpartum anestrus, in beef cows. In heifers, the effect of males on puberty is not well understood. However, there are evidences that, length of exposure, type and form of bioestimulatory cues may be important in determining the response in the increasing percentages of heifers reaching puberty. The pourpouse of this review is to enumerate biostimulation forms, types, methods, technics, factors and results that affect the reproductive efficience in beef cattle.As baixas taxas de natalidade são a principal causa do baixo rendimento produtivo e econômico da pecuária de cria no Brasil. Nas últimas décadas, diversas técnicas de manejo como suplementação nutricional de fêmeas, desmame precoce, e utilização de hormônios foram objeto de pesquisa visando aumentar os índices reprodutivos dos rebanhos. A bioestimulação ou efeito macho é definida como o efeito estimulatório via feromônio genital ou outros sinais externos menos compreendidos causados por um macho ou fêmea androgenizada sobre o estro, puberdade ou ovulação de uma fêmea da mesma espécie. É um técnica de manejo que pode ser utilizada para reduzir o período de anestro pós parto em vacas de corte. Em novilhas, o efeito macho sobre a puberdade não é bem esclarecido. Entretanto, há evidências que diferentes períodos de exposição, tipo e formas de bioestimulação podem ser importantes para aumentar o percentual de novilhas cíclicas. O objetivo desta revisão é elencar formas de bioestimulação, tipos, métodos e técnicas utilizadas, fatores e resultados que afetam a eficiência reprodutiva em bovinos de corte
