Il termalismo nelle province romane centrali. Rezia, Germania superiore e inferiore.

The aim of the research project is to study the exploitation of thermomineral resources in the Roman age in the Imperial provinces of Raetia, Germania superior and inferior using an interdisciplinary methodological approach. The first step of the analysis was a census aimed at forming a list of possible sites; then the sites were investigated to determine the fulfilling of the set parameter, which was the presence of Roman archaeological evidence in connection with thermomineral waters. For every chosen site, the archaeological evidence (both structural and cultual) was described in files on a designed on purpose database; information gathered from epigraphic, literary and itinerary sources was also included. Subsequently, the data analysis was carried on, focusing on the topics of ancient settling modes, structural and religious aspects, and society. The goal was to give a comprehensive knowledge of the phenomenon of thermalism, which held great importance in the Roman society
