Four types of chromites, similar in morphology and structure, have been observed in some chromite deposits of the Pozanti-Karsanti, Mersin and Kizildag (Hatay) ophiolitic massifs. There are, compact-massive, nodular, disseminated and in banded structure. The Cr-ores were compared with others in the Mediterranean regrion. It is concluded that, despite some regional differences, the chromite deposits of the Pozanit-Karsanti and Mersin ophiolitic massif have a more abundant Cr2O3 content in comparison with the Hatay deposits. These two ophiolitic massif are also Cr-richer than other ophiolitic massifs deposits in Turkey (Fethiye, Marmaris, Antalya). -from English summar
