The neuromuscular effects of rocuronium, a new nondepolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent, were studied in 20 adult patients. The onset time, maximal depression on muscle response, clinical duration, recovery index, spontaneous recovery time and endotracheal intubating conditions of each closes were investigated in two groups of patients in doses of 0.3 mg/kg and 0.6 mg/kg. 100 % depression in muscle response with each doses was obtained at 67.6 and 48.6 seconds respectively. Neuromuscular blockade has begun at 58.6 and 47.6 seconds, lasted 25.2 and 39 minutes respectively (p<0.05).
