Young children in their very early years widely encounter technological tools at home and at school in developed countries. According to Euro Barometer, almost every household has a fixed phone line; 87 % of households have cell phones, and two-thirds of households have a home computer. In early childhood, children start to use technological toys and computers comfortably at home or at school in addition to other technologies. Young children can use the mouse or touch the screen, and they follow visual directions on the screen to manage the tasks to which they are being exposed.
