Evaluation of developments in world agricultural trade in terms of export competition of Turkish citrus sector.

Within the scope of this research, based on 2009-2010 arketing period survey data, Policy Analyze Matrix and Revealed Comparative Advantage Index was created for the lemon and orange producers in Çukurova Region. In this context, the private and social profits of orange and lemon production were analyzed. From the analysis it was obtained that the private profit for lemon production is so low and for the orange production the private profit is negative. In addition, from the productivity coefficients calculated by the PAM approach it was obtained that both production is competitive but lemon production is more competitive than the orange production. As a result of the calculations, by the reference of the year 2009-2010 marketing period, both orange and lemon production is sustainable in Çukurova Region in terms of the social probability.Bu çalışmada, küreselleşen dünyada ticaret alanında yaşanan gelişmeler tarım ve turunçgil piyasaları açısından değerlendirilmiş ve bu turunçgil meyvelerinden limon ve portakal için karlılık ve rekabet göstergeleri hesaplanmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında, 2009-2010 pazarlama dönemi üretici anket verilerine dayanılarak Çukurova Bölgesi'nde limon ve portakal üretimi için Politika Analiz Matrisi (PAM) ve Açıklamalı Karşılaştırmalı Üstünlükler Endeksi oluşturulmuştur. Bu bağlamda portakal ve limon üretiminin özel ve sosyal karlılığı ile rekabet edebilirliği analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan hesaplamalardan özel karlılıklar limon üretimi için düşük portakal üretimi için ise negatif olarak ortaya konulmuştur. Ayrıca PAM yardımıyla verimlilik katsayıları hesaplanarak her iki ürünün üretiminin de rekabetçi olduğu ancak, limon üretiminin rekabet gücünün portakaldan daha yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar, Çukurova Bölgesi'nde portakal ve limon üretiminin sosyal karlılık açısından bölge için sürdürülebilir bir üretim dalı olduğunu göstermektedir.Bu çalışma Ç.Ü.
