Cerrahiyyetu'l-Haniyye (The Imperial's Surgery) was written in 15th century during the Ottoman era by Anatolian physician Serefeddin Sabuncuoglu (1385-1468). Although this book is considered as a translation of 'at- Tasrif' written by Andalusian surgeon Abulkasim (930-1013), Cerrahiyyetu'l- Haniyye includes 136 miniatures which may be accepted as fore-runners of medical illustrations as well as many original observations. Moreover, it has three original chapters, not present in at-Tasrif. It is interesting that two of these chapters are about dermatological procedures.
