Literatürde, daha önce yayımlanan sınırlı olgu sayılı çalışmalarda, metilentetrahidrofolat redüktaz (MTHFR) C677T ve A1298C polimorfizmleri ile açıklanamayan infertilite arasında bir ilişki olabileceğine dikkat çekilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, folat metabolizmasında yer alan MTHFR geninde meydana gelen polimorfizmlerin allel frekanslarını belirlemek ve infertilite riski ve genetik çeşitlilik açısından sonuçları değerlendirmektir.
