Trauma to the neurohypophysis (operational or accidental) is the most common cause of DI. Primary or metastatic intracranial tumors are the second most common cause of DI. Among the less frequent causes are the granulomatous lesions or infections of the central nervous system, drugs and vascular lesions [2].
