The biostratigraphy and paleogeographic features of late devonıan ostracodes in İstanbul (northwest Turkey.

In this study, 24 genera and 38 species of the Thuringian type ostracodes and 8 genera and 13 species of the Entomozoacean ostracodes of Late Devonian were identified. The Late Devonian Thuringian type ostracodes are known in north Africa, Europe and China, while the Entomozoacean ostracodes are wide spread in Europe and sparce in north Africa, Australia and North America. The Thuringian type ostracodes correspond to 6-7 zones of Blumenstengel (1965), whereas the Entomozoacean ostracodes correspond to Casier 1975 Entomoprimitia sartenaeri Zone (= variostriata Zone sensu Rabien, 1954).Çalışma alanı, İstanbul iline bağlı Şile ilçesi ve Kocaeli iline bağlı Gebze ilçesinin Değirmenbayırı mevkisinde yer almaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Geç Devoniyen'de Türingiyan tip ostrakodlardan 24 cins ile 38 tür ve Entomozoacean tip ostrakodlardan 8 cins ve 13 tür saptanmıştır. Türingiyan tip ostrakodlar Geç Devoniyen döneminde Kuzey Afrika, Avrupa ve Çin'de; , Entomozoacean tip ostrakodlar ise Avrupa ve Çin'de yaygın, Kuzey Afrika, Avusturalya ve Kuzey Amerika'da da az olarak bilinmektedir. Türingiyan tip ostrakodlar Blumenstengel 1965'ın 6-7 Zonuna, Entomozoacean tip ostrakodlar ise Casier 1975'in Entomoprimitia sartenaeri Zonuna (= variostriata Zone sensu Rabien, 1954) karşılık gelmektedir.Bu çalışma Ç.Ü.
