WOS: 000409415600010This study attemps for a semiotic review to First Violin Concerto (op. 77) of Shostakovich. Thus, it can be evaluated many signs, symbols that reveal the musical character of the concerto and also their meanings in the music. His longtime collaborator Yevgeny Mravinsky said that "Shostakovich very often explained his intentions with very specific images and connotations (Wilson. 1994: 139).
