Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the value of Tc-99m sestamibi breast scintigraphy in the tumor detection in comparison with mammography and ultrasonography (US), and to determine whether it could be used to differentiate malignancies from benign lesions. Methods: Thirty-one patients with palpable breast masses underwent Tc-99m sestamibi breast scintigraphy, mammography and US. Results: On histological diagnosis, there were 19 malignant tumors (18 infiltrative ductal carcinoma, one infiltrative lobular carcinoma) and 12 benign lesions (10 ductal hyperplasia, one chronic inflammation, one granulomatous mastitis).
