Geologic and mineralogical investigations of chromite deposits in the Beypınarı-Zara region (Sivas).

Ophiolite in the study area consists of serpentinized dunite, serpentinized harzburgite, rodengite dikes and brecciated serpentinites. Chromite pods in the serpentinezed dunites are usually in massive form. Based on chemical analysis, the Cr2O3 contents range from 33.94 to 51.71 %. The Cr2O3 content of chromites show negatively correlated with some major elements such as Al2O3 and MgO, whereas Fe2O3 is possitively corelated. The Cr2O3 content of chromites show V and Co is possitively orelated although negatively correlated with Ni.Bu çalışmada Beypınarı (Zara/SİVAS) bölgesinde bulunan kromit cevherleşmelerinin jeokimyasal, mineralojik ve petrografik yönden incelenmiştir. Kromit cevher örneklerinin ana ve iz elementler olarak analizleri yapılmıştır. Çalışma alanında bulunan ofiyolitler, erpantinize dunit, serpantinize harzburjit, rodenjit daykları ve breşik serpantinitlerden oluşmaktadır. Serpantinize dunitler içerisinde kromit damarları genel olarak masif şekilde gözlenmektedir. Kimyasal analizlerde kromitlerin Cr2O3 içeriği % 33.94-51.71 arasındadır. Kromitler, ana oksitlerden Al2O3 ve MgO ile negatif, Fe2O3 ile pozitif korelasyon, iz elementlerden Ni elementi ile negatif, V ve Co elementleri ile pozitif korelasyon sunmaktadır.Bu çalışma Ç.Ü.
