Amaç: Bu çalışmada bir üniversite hastanesi psikiyatri kliniğinde yatarak tedavi gören duygudurum bozukluğu tanılı hastaların elektrokonvülzif tedavi (EKT) uygulanma sıklığının ve EKT uygulanan hastaların özelliklerinin saptanması amaçlandı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmaya 2006-2007 yılları arasında Çukurova Üniversitesi Psikiyatri Anabilim Dalı yatan hasta servisine duygudurum bozukluğu tanısıyla yatarak tedavi gören 93 (49 kadın, 44 erkek) hasta dahil edildi. Bulgular: Klinikte yatarak tedavi gören 93 hastanın 30 (%32,2)’una EKT uygulandığı saptandı. Hasta grubunun tamamının ortalama hastanede kalış süresi 29.81±15.52 gündü.
