The contribution of open area statues to the aesthetic of city.

In the organisation of sites of city, statue is an art component which provides positive contribution to city and all the factors which compose and also it makes the city to become more different in visual sight. The environmental efforts of artists aim such activities like making the sites available to live, bringing new identity and making the environment more esthetic. These efforts cause themselves to be felt in city and open areas by making the artist and eventually the art itself be known in wide scope. In this respect, it is aimed to enlarge the borders of art and make people get involved in art activities. First of all, the open area statues which meet people directly in social life are the ones belong to the public. For this reason, the real owner of open area statues and work of arts which will be placed in city centres, in front of buildings and in open areas are the people who share the place with them. In the first half of 20t n century, there are definite changes and improvements in the art of statue. In this century, statue is not only created from the description of definite thing and subjects or forming a piece of soil or dressing a stone but also it is created from the things that are brought together in a site. In the open statue, kunt mass or the spaces in and between the volume are started to be important. Today, open area statues are in various form and techniques and they get importance in the city and art combination.Kent, sosyolojik, ekonomik, kültürel, vb. etmenleri bünyesinde taşıyan bir olgudur. Kentlerin mekanlarının düzenlenmesinde ise heykel, kente ve onu oluşturan tüm bu etmenlere olumlu katkılar sağlayan ve bulunduğu mekanı görsel açıdan da farklı bir konuma kavuşturan bir sanat öğesidir. Sanatçıların çevresel çabaları, mekanları daha yaşanabilir kılma, yeni bir kimlik kazandırma ve çevreyi estetize etmek gibi etkinlikleri amaçlar. Yine bu çabalar sanatçıyı, dolayısıyla sanatı daha geniş çevrelere seslenir duruma getirerek kent içerisinde, açık alanlarda varlığını hissettirir. Ve böylece, bir anlamda sanatın sınırları genişletilerek insanların sanatsal etkinliğe dahil edilmesi hedeflenir. Toplumsal yaşamda insanlarla doğrudan buluşan açık alan heykelleri öncelikle kamuya ait heykellerdir. Bu sebeple bir kentin meydanlarına, yapıların önüne, açık alanlarına yerleştirilecek olan alan heykellerinin, sanat yapıtlarının asıl sahipleri de o mekanı paylaşan insanlardır. Heykel sanatında 20. yüzyılın ilk yarısında belirli değişimler ve gelişmeler yaşanmıştır. Bu yüzyılda heykel yalnızca belirli nesne ve konulan betimlemekle ya da bir toprak çamurun yoğrulup biçimlendirilmesi ya da bir taş kütlesinin yontulmasıyla değil, mekan içinde parçaların bir araya getirilmesiyle de oluşan kurgularla da meydana gelmiştir. Açık alan heykellerinde kunt kitle ya da oylumların içlerindeki ve aralarındaki boşluklarda önemsenmeye başlanmıştır. Günümüzde de açık alan heykelleri çeşitli form ve tekniklerde ifade edilmekte olup, kent ve sanat birlikteliğinde önemini kazanmaktadır.Bu çalışma Ç.Ü.
