Population-level engagement in adequate leisure-time physical activity (LTPA) can improve mental and physical health and potentially save billions in health care costs. Despite these potentially positive outcomes, inadequate LTPA engagement is prevalent in the United States with urban residents’ living in poverty when compared to residents not living in poverty.
