This paper deals with the optimal vibration elimination technique and the experimental demonstration of a cylindrical linear step motor dynamic behavior. Electrical, mechanical and magnetic motion equations are used to analyze the system behavior, employing a general-purpose method and finite element method. The oscillatory transient region of the step response and the inertial effect of the mover are investigated. The influence of the command time between steps and amplitude of commands on the damping capacity is determined. Thus, the optimal command time interval and amplitude degrees are found that remove the vibration completely in the least time. A comparison of the theory with the measured results shows the validity of this analysis. ...
