Environmental effects of forest road construction on steep slope

Dik eğimli arazideki orman yolu inşaatları ekolojik dengeye zarar verebilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, dozer ve ekskavatör makine türleri ile çok dik eğimli arazide (>%51) örnek alanlar seçilerek incelemeler yapılmış, orman yollarının yapımı sırasında ormana verilen doğrudan çevresel zararlar tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Ekskavatör ile yapılan çalışmada açılan orman alanının dozere göre %26,54 oranında daha az olduğu belirlenmiştir. Dozer ile çalışma yapılan alanda görsel bozukluk oluşturan şeridin, ekskavatörle çalışma yapılan alandan iki kat daha büyük olduğu saptanmıştır. Ayrıca inşaat boyunca yamaç aşağı atılan fazla materyal, yol güzergahı altındaki ağaçlarda dozer ile çalışmada %55, ekskavatörle çalışmada %31 oranında hasara neden olmaktadır. Araştırmanın sonuçları göstermiştir ki yol projelerinde uygulanan çevreye duyarlı teknikler, çok dik eğimlerdeki yol inşaatında buldozerlerin geleneksel kullanımına göre oldukça üstündür.Forest road constructions on steep slopes may harm to ecological balance on these areas. This study is carried out in sample sites which are selected in steep terrain conditions (>51% gradient) with dozer and excavator machine kinds and the direct damages to forest during road construction are determined. The opening forest area at construction with excavator was estimated 26.54% less than construction with dozer. Visual disturbance strip of the area at road construction with dozer was determined twofold larger than road construction with excavator. Furthermore, excess material wasted downhill during the construction cause damage to trees below roadway 55% rate at construction with dozer and 31% rate at construction with excavator. The results of this research show that the environmentally sensitive techniques applied for the road construction projects are considerably superior to the traditional use of bulldozers on steep slopes
