Santral seröz koryoretinopatinin tipik formları çoğunlukla 3-4 ay içinde görme kaybı olmaksızın kendiliğinden iyileşmektedir. Ancak bazı nadir formları retina pigment epitel atrofisi ile beraber kronik gidiş göstermekte ve kötü görsel prognozla seyretmektedir. Bu retina pigment epitel atrofileri vertikal, aşağıya doğru uzanan yol şeklinde izlenebilmekte ve bazen seröz sıvının yer değiştirmesi ile alt yarıda büllöz retina dekolmanına sebep olmaktadırlar. Bu görünüm tanı ve tedavide ikilemlere yol açmaktadır.
