COST Action CA15132 (hCOMET).Humans and wildlife are exposed to an intractably number of different combinations of chemicals via food, water, air, consumer products, materials, and goods. Exposure to mixtures of chemicals in occupational settings and in the environment is of increasing concern in the scientific community since no single approach is appropriate for determining the risk associated with exposure to chemical mixtures. The risk assessment of chemicals for regulatory purposes does only in rare cases take into account the “real life” exposure to multiple chemicals.
