Excellence, surplus and individuation : the question of education as a display of technicity

ABSTRACT: This article intertwines the philosophy of education and the psychology of individuation. The thesis is: the excellence in education is an effect of the process of individuation –which includes transindividuation as technicity– worked in the relation (between, admist) in which are displayed intuito personae imagination as much as invention. Section I presents a discussion –canonical if you want– of the assumptions of individuation and its effect, the difference, in Gilbert Simondon's proposal. This section is divided into three steps: 1. A description of the individuation process from the transduction to point out the place of difference in the individualenvironment mutual relationship; 2. The emergence of psychic individuation –which is at the same time collective and transindividual– is shown. This leads the reader to: 3. The technical relation as a psychosocial link that paves the way for a formative process aimed at the display of capabilities, particularly, to the possibility of capturing in its genesis, technicity, which is indeed transindividual. In Section II, entwined, the relations between individuation and difference in a political-pedagogic project are shown. This section consists of three steps: 1. A characterization of difference as an effect of individuation; 2. A study of individuation as a political-pedagogic project; and 3. An analysis of individuation as both excellence and surplus in the education process. As a coda, we focus our attention, in the form of a synthesis, in the notions of capacity, technicity, imagination, and invention as aspects of the homo capax that becomes homo narrans in and because of technicity. The latest one is indeed Simondon's political-pedagogic project.RESUMEN: Este artículo entrelaza filosofía de la educación y psicología de la individuación. La presentación sitúa la tesis, a saber: la excelencia en la formación es efecto de los procesos de individuación –que incluyen la transindividuación como tecnicidad– operada en la relación (entre, cabe) en la que se despliega intuito personae tanto la imaginación como la invención. En la sección I se hace una exposición, si se quiere canónica, de los presupuestos de la individuación y su efecto, la diferencia, en el pensamiento de Gilbert Simondon. En esta sección se dan tres pasos: 1. Se describe el proceso de individuación desde la transducción para señalar el lugar de la diferencia en la mutua relación entre individuo y entorno; 2. Se muestra el surgimiento de la individuación psíquica que es, al tiempo, colectiva, transindividual. Por esta vía se llega a: 3. La relación técnica como vínculo psicosocial que sirve de base para un proceso formativo orientado al despliegue de capacidades, en particular, a la posibilidad de captar en su génesis la tecnicidad, que es en sí, transindividual. En la sección II, entrelazadas, se muestran las relaciones entre individuación y diferencia en un proyecto político-pedagógico. En esta sección se dan tres pasos: 1. Se caracteriza la diferencia como efecto de la individuación; 2. Se estudia la individuación como proyecto político-pedagógico; y 3. Se mira la individuación, como excelencia y como excedencia en los procesos de formación. Como colofón se tematizan, a manera de síntesis, las nociones de capacidad, tecnicidad, imaginación e invención como aspectos del homo capax que se torna homo narrans en y por la tecnicidad.
