National audienceThe study of urban housing in the northern provinces of the Empire benefits from the proliferation of developer funded excavations. The amount of data now makes it possible to conduct a study on these housing facilities to try to identify distinctive features. Approximately 300 houses were studied according to several criteria: the materials and construction techniques used, the areas and the purposes of the rooms that could be considered as indicators of social status.
