The Concept of Human Personality According to St. Augustine

The spiritual heritage of the West is much indebted to an African bishop who, in his life time, was called \u27Aurelius Augustinus\u27. The social and political ideas of the Western Christendom have been influenced in large measure by Augustine\u27s writing. St. Thomas Aquinas the \u27Angelic Doctor\u27, who bequeathed the most systematic presentation of Christian philosophy and theology, drew a great deal from the mine of Augustine \u27s ideas and cited Augustine more than a thousand times in the Summa Theologies alone. Anyone who wishes to understand the tradition of the Western Church cannot be satisfied with a second hand acquaintance with Augustine\u27s writings. It is this conviction that is the motive behind this research in some of Augustine\u27s major works
