Agnes Titus is a leading human rights defender in Bougainville. She shares an early personal memory of her father-in-law being thought of as a sorcerer or poison man. At the time she had her own way of proofing that what everyone said was wrong but that indeed he was a kind and loving man. Throughout her career Agnes advocated for women’s rights and as sorcery accusations emerged towards both women and men, she takes a clear stand: everyone has the right to life! Agnes sees culture, religion and the law working together to support human rights.
