Housing is a primary requirement of life, however, not everyone is able to, or wants to, own their own home. Many of these individuals depend upon private rental accommodation as their form of home tenure; while others access social and other housing. It is timely therefore to ensure that Queensland’s residential tenancies law is able to protect tenants; and to ensure that they, their landlords and the landlords’ agents are better informed and better at engaging with each other . The Queensland government is to be commended for commencing this review, which they should look to prioritise to ensure it is fully completed.
