Palliative Care Bill 2014 (Qld)

This Bill was written by Professors Ben White and Lindy Willmott, and the then Co-ordinator of the Australian Centre for Health Law Research, Penny Neller. It was prepared at the request of the then Assistant Minister for Health, Dr Chris Davis MP, and in consultation with Palliative Care Queensland. The Bill was designed to improve access to and information about palliative care and advance care planning. It also aimed to clarify for medical practitioners and other health professionals some areas of uncertainty relating to civil and criminal responsibility that could arise in care at the end of life. The authors of this Bill take responsibility for its contents and the accompanying Explanatory Notes.
