The traditional demarcation of International Armed Conflicts (IACs) and Non-International Armed Conflicts (NIACs) has been blurred with the changing nature of modern warfare. Accordingly, the applicability of Four Geneva Conventions and Additional Protocols also have been challenged in the sense that most of the provisions are only applicable into IACs. However, with the intervention of Customary International Humanitarian Law (CIHL), IHL's blending with Human Rights law and identification of mixed armed conflicts, the traditional application has diminished its value
