Implementation of career education as perceived by administrators

The purpose of this investigation was to acquire the opinions of experienced school administrators and regional service center coordinators of career education in order to develop a basis for recommendations related to coordinating and planning for the implementation of career education in public schools in Texas. Specific objectives to accomplish this purpose were: 1. To determine if differences exist in the perception of regional service center coordinators of career education, superintendents, and vocational directors in regard to elements, concepts, and principles of the career education movement. 2. To determine the present status of supervision of career education and if differences exist in the perception of regional service center coordinators of career education, superintendents, and vocational directors in regard to who should have supervisory and decision-making roles when implementing career education. 3. To determine the perception of regional service center coordinators of career education, superintendents, and vocational directors in regard to approaches to be used in implementing career education. 4. To determine the association between school size and perceptions held by superintendents and vocational directors regarding career education. 5. To develop a list of recommendations for planning and coordinating the implementation of career education programs
