Wendy Chapkis discusses her book, Dying To Get High: Marijuana as Medicine (2008) New York University Press (co-authored with Richard J. Webb). Wendy Chapkis has taught sociology and gender studies at USM since 1995. From 2016 - 2019 she has served as the Faculty Scholar for the Jean Byers Sampson Center for Diversity in Maine working with the LGBTQ+ Collection. In that capacity, she created the “Querying the Past: Maine LGBTQ Oral History Project” which now includes life history interviews with dozens of Mainers.
