The article undertakes the issue of cultural argumentation in the dispute between the Sami native minority and the Kingdom of Sweden. The objective is the exclusive right to decide on the land and the natural resources of the northern part of the country. Part of the area in the northern region of Norrbotten, for centuries inhabited by the Sami, was the subject of a dispute lasting nearly 7 years, resolved in 2016 in favor of the national minority. The use of cultural arguments, with reference to historical forms of self-management of the community, turned out to be an effective strategy in the legal battle with the state.
