It provides information on how an organizationcan get Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) acceptance as a third partycertification body and how manufacturers may get equipment qualified under theprogram. It includes a list of FAA accepted certification bodies and a list ofproducts that have been certified under the program. This AC does not imposerequirements or mandate participation in the ALECP by any party. The AC isintended, only to describe the criteria that FAA will use to determine whethera certification body qualifies for participation and how equipment may bequalified.84
