The research project was designed to assist transit agencies as well as manufacturers in providing access on public transit vehicles to persons with disabilities and to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The project focused on mobility aid securement problem analysis, design and construction of several securement system prototypes, and extensive testing of both the operational and engineering aspects of the securement system.93
