External Pipeline Coating Integrity - One Year Extension

We have identified that residual stresses can play a critical role to cause coating disbondment in the three-layer polyolefin (3LPO) pipeline coatings. This finding has made positive impact to the 3LPO manufacturers, installers, and end users. The above study was based on the three-layer polyethylene (3LPE) pipeline coating system normally designed for service temperatures below 60 \ub0C. There is a growing need to use high temperature pipeline coatings at above 60 \ub0C. To meet market demands, FBE manufacturers recently have developed high Tg FBE for high temperature pipeline coating applications.
