TRZs work bydesignating the area around a neededtransportation project as an impact zone, andallowing the governmental entity that built theproject to capture some or all of the increment inlocal property and sales tax revenues that resultfrom the growth in the zone\ue2\u20ac\u2122s tax base. TRZs joina suite of funding sources and financemechanisms that ports currently use but that donot address all of a port\ue2\u20ac\u2122s financial needs
