Evaluations of such technologies typically focus on safety and there has been limited research on the impacts of such technologies on traffic operations. Given the difficulty in observing such impacts in the real world, traffic simulation is used in this project to replicate such technologies under various demand and market penetration scenarios. The project focuses on Advanced Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Change Assist (LCA). These two systems were replicated in a microsimulator (CORSIM) and their impacts were reported separately and in combination along a test network
