This study finds that ALDOT is faced with aconsiderable number of challenges in meeting the growing demand for transportation. This project also provides atechnology-enabled tool for asset management, to help define issues, and to help managers make data-driven,model-based decisions about work issues and allocation of resources. The study finds:\ue2\u20ac\ua2 The 2004 to 2008 CPMS does not meet the needs of the transportation system. The program will have outstandingtransportation needs for improvements in capacity, safety, and system preservation (bridges and pavement).\ue2\u20ac\ua2 The 2018 CPMS transportation program will demonstrate even higher levels of deficiencies and need for additionalfunding.\ue2\u20ac\ua2 Program funds are equitably distributed to programs statewide, including counties that have been identified as\ue2\u20ac\u153lagging\ue2\u20ac? by the Center for Business and Economic Research at the University of Alabama.\ue2\u20ac\ua2 The CPMS program should be reviewed periodically to ensure it continues to meet performance measures forcapacity, safety, and system preservation
