2006 ITIP proposal.

The Department of Transportation\u2019s (Department) five-year Interregional TransportationImprovement Program (ITIP) is prepared pursuant to Government Code 14526 andconsists of projects funded from the interregional share, which is 25 percent of StateTransportation Improvement Program (STIP) funding. The STIP consists of two broadprograms, the regional program funded from 75 percent of STIP funding and theinterregional program. The 75 percent regional program is further subdivided by formulainto county shares to be nominated by regions for projects that improve transportation inthe region. The 25 percent interregional share is nominated by the Department in theITIP for projects that improve transportation between regions.
