On February 11, 1994, President Bill Clinton signed Executive Order 12898, FederalActions to Address Environmental Justice in Minority Populations and Low-Income Populations.Two major federal laws, the National Environmental Protection Agency (NEPA) and Title VI ofthe Civil Rights Act, are highlighted in the Executive Order. This study provides an overview ofliterature and case studies regarding Environmental Justice issues and concerns. Additionally, thestudy includes survey responses of state DOT\ue2\u20ac\u2122s and MPO\ue2\u20ac\u2122s about their methods of addressingenvironmental justice in planning and projects
