Kennedy (JFK) Airport; to obtain a data base of wind, wind shear, and wake vortex measurements; and to assess the basic operational capabilities of the system based on these measurements. The basic operational capabilities, resolution, and the integrity of a scanning LDV for the remote sensing of winds, wind shear, and wake vortices at terminal areas have been established.
