Using advanced wirelesscommunications, cars, trucks, buses, and even motorcycles soon will be able to sharereal-time information about their speed, position, brake status, and more. Vehicle-toinfrastructure(V2I) communications is the wireless exchange of data between vehiclesand roadway infrastructure such as traffic signals, work zones, and toll booths. Whenleveraged with vehicle-to-vehiclecommunications technology, a V2Ideployment will result in significantsafety, mobility, and environmentalbenefits that will be of significantinterest to state, regional, and localtransportation agencies
